“ This has to be the best kept secret in St. Charles. My husband kept INSISTING this place had the best steak in St. Charles. In a bowling alley??? HE. WAS. RIGHT. My strip steak was PERFECTLY cooked, had incredible marbling, had a crisp sear, delightfully seasoned, and topped with a delectable butter that made me want to lick the plate. The sides were average. Service was top notch, with the waiter getting every request perfect, drinks refilled before we asked, and anticipating every need. Even though he'd covered everything, he still checked in multiple times to see if everything was good or if we needed anything. I'll be honest about the ambiance: it's a bowling alley. They have cheap tables and chairs, and the decor is their sponsorship of local teams. I loved it! I definitely wanted to support a business that was so invested in their community. It doesn't try to be fancy and they don't overcharge you to pay for fancy decor. If you want good food, good service and to have a good time while you're here, this is the place for you. ”
“ They are known for their steaks served on Friday and Saturday nights only. Delicious every time! Always cooked correctly, as ordered. Comes out sizzling with their special butter. Even their baked potatoes are really good, very fresh. They also sell a lot of their fried chicken dinners. Great food in a casual setting; they have two separate dining areas to choose from there. Steaks are 25-30, but the rest of the menu is probably 8-16. ”

“ Been hearing about the supposedly great steaks at Tubby's for over 15 years and finally decided to give it a shot - it did not disappoint! Had an onion tangler for an appetizer, which I highly recommend. We ordered the Ribeye and the New York Strip, both of which were cooked to perfection. We both preferred the ribeye, but the strip was excellent as well. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I can't believe I waited so long to try this place. Their steaks are far superior to the Pine Room. I definitely recommend Tubby's and I will be back. ”
“ I have lived here for about 10 years and I kept hearing about Tubby’s. It is in fact a little St Charles Gem. The prices, portions and quality of food is really good. Ribeye was great, not too fatty and cooked to perfection. The salmon was well seasoned and tasty. The wings were really meaty and good. We will for sure be back to order again. ”
